At Chester Veterinary Clinic, we believe that preventative care is the cornerstone of your pet's health. Since our pets age more rapidly than us, a seven year old cat or dog is well into their "forties". As a result, many changes can take place in what for us is a fairly short period of time. That is why the American Animal Hospital Association now recommends twice yearly physical exams plus appropriate blood work for cats and dogs over seven years of age.
Giving your senior pet the best wellness medicine is the way to ensure that we help you to give them the healthiest future. That is why we now recommend a physical exam every 6 months with one of these exams to include our Senior Wellness Package.
Our Senior Wellness Package is designed to help you and your pet have a long-lasting and healthy relationship that is cost-effective. We can offer these tests in one visit at a greater savings to you for much less than would cost if done over several visits.
Our Senior Wellness Package includes the following:
Complete Physical Exam: eyes, ears, teeth, cardiovascular, respiratory, musculoskeletal, neurological, abdomen, urogenital, lymph nodes, skin, and hair evaluation.
Blood Pressure Evaluation: May indicate heart disease, kidney disease, or other diseases
Complete Blood Count (CBC): may indicate early or chronic infections, inflammation or anemia
Chemistry and Electrolyte Profile: may identify diseases such as liver, kidney, pancreatitis, and diabetes in the early stages before owners may notice clinical signs of illness
Thyroid testing: to identify cats with Hyperthyroidism or dogs with Hypothyroidism
Urinalysis used to detect abnormalities in the urine that could be from kidney, bladder or urethral disease
ECG Monitoring: used to help determine any abnormalities in your pet's heart function
With bi-annual physical exams and our Senior Wellness Package, many health problems which are not readily detected in other ways can be caught early on and appropriate steps taken to ensure continued well-being and a longer life for your pet.
If purchased separately, the tests included in the Senior Wellness Package would cost $275. Purchasing the package gives you a $76 discount, so the Senior Wellness Package costs only $199 plus tax if applicable.
